Jamie Lomas was angry when he revealed his fiancee’s unusual relationship with ex-boyfriend Kym Marsh
EXCLUSIVE: Jamie Lomas has detailed how his fiancee Jess Bell has a close bond with his ex wife Kym Marsh, sharing how the pair exchange phone calls 'all the time'.
And during the chat, Jamie explained how he and Kym don’t have the typical ‘exes’ relationship as they co-parent daughter Polly, 13, together, with Jess and Kym even close pals. “We divorced 10 years ago and, honestly, I think Jess is better mates with Kym than me now. She speaks to her all the time on the phone,” laughed Jamie as we probed into how they co-parent.
His fiancée added: “Polly and Bella are sisters and, when they’re older, they might want to spend time together at Kym’s house as well as this house. That sibling bond is important to us.”
“Jamie: It’s made me so emotional watching Polly and Bella together. Polly actually wanted to be at the birth, so when we had to go to the hospital, she couldn’t wait for her baby sister to come home.,” said Jamie.
Jamie also detailed how Polly has been helping out with their new arrival, sharing: “[Polly has] been great with helping to feed Bella and holding her if we need to do some bits around the house. But she is also a typical teenager who doesn’t get out of bed until one o’clock in the afternoon [laughs].
“She’s staying with us while her mum’s working [Kym is performing on stage in 101 Dalmatians] which has been so nice. Jess is a fantastic stepmum to Polly, and it’s so important that Kym and I have a good relationship.”
Jamie and Kym began dating in 2008 and married in 2012 but split just two years later. Alongside Polly – who was born in 2011 – they also welcomed a baby boy named Archie in 2009. Sadly, Archie was born 21 weeks prematurely and heartbreakingly died within minutes of being born. Jamie is also dad to 18-year-old Billy from a previous relationship.
Sharing their joyous baby news this week, the actor confessed that a new addition to the family wasn’t exactly on the cards, but was the best surprise they could ever have hoped for.
“I just didn’t see how a baby would fit in around our lives,” Jess, who is a cosmetic dentist, explains. “But you learn to make things work, and I’m so glad we did. She’s completed us.”
