Fans Embarrassed When They Discovered Jenn Tran And Sasha Farber Doing This Intimate Act During Eras Tour
A sneaky fan appears to have snapped a photo of Dancing With The Stars Season 33 maybe-lovebirds Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber holding hands while taking a walk in Vancouver.
For context, Jenn’s addition to Season 33 of DWTS was confirmed in the immediate aftermath of a nightmarish, disastrous finale to her season of The Bachelorette — the contestant Jenn ultimately chose, Devin Strader, turned out to be a bit of a monster.
Fans rallied behind Jenn, and many saw her DWTS casting as an olive branch from the network for putting her through hell with Devin (and then making her re-live it, live on national television).
No one was expecting Jenn to do much more than dance, and they certainly didn’t expect a showmance after Jenn’s awful experience and traumatically broken engagement to Devin.
Jenn continued to delight viewers in her second reality TV run of 2024, but she was voted off the show on “Halloween Nightmares Night,” and fans were again furious with the network.
However, that fan outrage was disrupted by Jenn herself on October 30, when she shared a TikTok strongly hinting that she and pro Sasha Farber had accidentally found love on DWTS.
Jenn lip-synced a voiceover, saying:
“When one door closes, another one opens, but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
Pretty unambiguous, right? We thought so, too.
Two weeks later, though, Jenn went on a podcast and admitted that she thought Sasha would “freak out” if the “boyfriend label” was applied to their … situationship?
But in the same podcast episode, Jenn talked about moving in with Sasha — and from that point, the duo were consistently ambiguous about the nature of their relationship.
There were Instagram spats with Devin, a joint outing to Alfonso Ribeiro’s house for Thanksgiving, and a visit to Los Angeles’ Midnight Mission on the holiday, too.
Jenn has routinely featured Sasha on TikTok, and over the weekend, she posted about their trip to Vancouver for the end of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour:
Apparently, Jenn and Sasha almost didn’t make it due to a slow-moving passport in the mail, but ultimately prevailed.
Will Sasha ‘Freak Out’ Over A ‘Holding Hands’ Label?
Taylor’s Eras Tour drew to a close on Sunday, December 8.
Jenn and Sasha attended the penultimate night in Vancouver, and shared plenty of posts on TikTok and Instagram of their presence at the concert.
But another very popular social media post appeared on Reddit’s r/dancingwiththestars, and it featured a photo not taken by Jenn or Sasha:
The original poster didn’t elaborate on the photo’s origin, nor did they claim to have taken it, simply captioning the post: “You know you love me, xoxo-Gossip Girl.”
The image was captured from a distance, with Jenn and Sasha facing away from the camera — but it certainly looked like them.
Moreover, “holding hands” is not an inherently romantic gesture, but it is far more common for couples to hold hands than platonic friends slash roommates.
Two Reddit commenters interpreted the hand-holding as necessarily romantic, remarking:
“I mean it’s pretty obvious going to see Taylor together by themselves and sharing one hotel room with one bed, what are they just buddies?? Not to mention they’ve basically spent every day together even after she was eliminated[.]”
“And they fully LIVE TOGETHER. Minor detail 😉[.]”
Jenn and Sasha’s incessant confounding of DWTS fans was evident in another top comment:
Okay first post that actually is starting to convince me they’re together lol
Another user replied: “Wait her being an insanely beautiful young girl who calls him babe and lives at his house didn’t convince you but this did 😂😂[?]”
One fan had a pretty good take on the confusion as well as the surreptitiously captured image, observing:
“Obviously they’ve been dropping hints but a picture of them holding hands when they don’t know they’re being photographed is sooo so so different than the games they play when they post their own content lol.”
The image and its implications followed closely on the heels of Dancing With The Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy’s condemnation of showmances between pros and celebrities.
Val, who is married to pro Jenna Johnson, didn’t appear to be knocking Jenn or Sasha specifically in his remarks — but he did say that he believed that the power imbalance between pros and untrained dancers was an unsavory element of DWTS showmances.
He also confessed to dabbling in showmances early on, before he married Jenna:
“Long time ago, my first couple of seasons, I’ve been given partners that I did have romantic exchanges with — incredibly unprofessional to do so in my mind.
“Because I’m here as their teacher and as their partner, and I’m probably, in some way or another, in a position of authority to them. Like, don’t s*** where you eat kind of thing comes into play.”
In addition to the potential power imbalance regarding their statuses on Dancing With The Stars, Jenn and Sasha also have a bit of an age gap — Jenn is 27, and Sasha is 40.
Val did say that he didn’t oppose all showmances, and he expressed support and even enthusiasm for connections between “two consenting adults” forged on DWTS:
“If it’s genuine, it’s awesome. When it’s authentic, and it’s two consenting adults enjoying their time together, I love that.”
On Monday afternoon (December 9), Jenn shared another TikTok post, indicating she and Sasha “missed” Vancouver already, depicting the “are they a couple” having fun during their trip.
In the post, they lip-synced the Wicked song “What Is This Feeling?” — which fans viewed as further “teasing” in terms of the question of whether they’re an item or not.
Fans flooded the comments to praise Jenn and Sasha’s “cuteness” and chemistry and to lament their coyness — and Hulu’s verified account joined in, clearly and succinctly referencing the song’s title and the pair’s commitment to ambiguity: “We’re curious too 👀[.]”
