Hollyoaks’ Steph Davis gives birth to second baby as she details ‘traumatic’ time
Stephanie Davis has introduced the world to her second child, with her partner Joe McKalroy talking of the 'traumatic experience' and the meaning to their son's name
Stephanie Davis has given birth to her second child, her boyfriend has announced.
The Hollyoaks actress, who suffered a tragic miscarriage in 2021, announced her pregnancy with her second child last August. It is her first child with boyfriend Joe McKalroy, after going through a difficult time in her personal life.
Joe announced the exciting news on Instagram, alongside a photo introducing their new son. He wrote: “Welcome to the world my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy.
“Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do,” Joe went on, explaining the meaning behind the little lad’s name.
“It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms.
“I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words.
“@stephaniedavis88 I love you more than you will ever know,” he added.
Stephanie said: “Sobbing reading this. My heart.
“I love you more than anything in this world. I couldn’t love you more, I’m so blessed to have you as a daddy to our boys.
“You carried me through that, it was so tough. I love you more than you will ever know.”
The post showed their new son in a hospital crib, and being held by big brother Caben in the second snap. Other photos showed more family members hugging the new arrival.
Steph and Joe’s followers were quick to share kind words with the duo. One said: “Congratulations to you both.”
Another said: “Congratulations guys! He is beautiful! Wishing Steph a speedy recovery, sending lots of love to you all! Enjoy the baby bubble.”
Someone else said: “He’s just perfect! Congratulations. Lots of love to you all.”
Helen Flanagan commented: “Congratulations. What a beautiful boy.” While Claire Sweeney simply left some heart emojis.
Stephanie is also mum to Caben-Albi, who recently celebrated his eighth birthday. His dad is reality star Jeremy McConnell, who Steph got with during Celebrity Big Brother in 2016.
