Hollyoaks fans ‘work out’ who kills Maxine Minniver as Nikki Sanderson exit ‘confirmed’
Hollyoaks fans have been left fearing the worst for Maxine Minniver after it was reported that actress Nikki Sanderson is leaving the Channel 4 soap after 12 years
Hollyoaks viewers reckon they’ve pieced together the exit storyline for Maxine Minniver following reports that Nikki Sanderson is bidding farewell to the Channel 4 soap after a 12-year stint.
Viewers have been gripped by Maxine’s rollercoaster ride since she first set foot in the village in 2012, witnessing her grapple with domestic violence, a heart-wrenching custody battle, and a tumultuous love life.
One of her most unforgettable romances was with Dodger Savage, played by Danny Mac, which has recently reignited, but it seems their fairy-tale ending might not be on the cards.
The Sun reports that Nikki chose to part ways with Hollyoaks to broaden her horizons and explore different roles.
An insider revealed to the publication: “She met with bosses and told them of her plans to leave, she’d just turned 40 and felt the time was right to say goodbye to Maxine. She’s keen to explore other opportunities and is excited to get back out there. She will film her final scenes next month, which will go out on-screen in May.”
This bombshell sent fans into a frenzy, with some soap detectives speculating if Maxine could fall prey to Jez Blake’s (Jeremy Sheffields) murderous spree. The new serial killer has already claimed the lives of Abe Fielding and Dilly Harcourt, leading fans to fear for her safety.
In the upcoming drama, Maxine’s suspicions about Jez grow after Ste Hay (played by Kieron Richardson) voices his fears that Jez may have killed his cat. Maxine’s detective work leads her to some damning evidence, including what appears to be a murder journal, pointing to Jez as a killer, reports the Manchester Evening News.
But as she’s about to alert the authorities, Jez catches her in the act and grabs the phone from her grasp.
