Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas shares ‘cruel’ family update with famous sisters
Jamie shared a picture with his mum and two sisters as they celebrated a special occasion
Jamie Lomas has shared a family update as his mum celebrateD a special occasion. The actor is known for playing the role of Warren Fox on Hollyoaks. He has had several stints on the show since joining in June 2006.
The actor has also appeared in shows including Brookside, Coronation Street and Heartbeat while his sisters have forged their own successful careers in the spotlight. Jamie’s sisters are former Emmerdale star Debbie Dingle actress Charley Webb and celebrity makeup artist Cassie Lomas.
Taking to Instagram today, Jamie shared an emotional post which led to a wave of supportive messages. He wrote: “Today we celebrated my mums 75th birthday. Although she has severe dementia and has had it for 10 years now, she is still our mum and we love her so much.
“Dementia can be very cruel and very frustrating for family members, but we remember, that she was once like me and you and unfortunately her mind just doesn’t work the same anymore. You only get one mum and just remember that time is precious. Don’t ever forget that your mum loved you before the world even knew you existed. I love you mum. Happy 75th birthday.”
Jamie shared a picture with his mum and two sisters, alongside other images of his mum over the years. Charley Webb commented “Fams” with a red love heart emoji. Brooke Vincent, known for playing the role of Sophie Webster on Coronation Street, wrote: “Happy Birthday to the icon.” And Cassie Lomas added: “Ah that’s gorgeous Jay and she loves you so much! X.”
Fans also supported the actor after the emotional message. One fan sadi: “I lost my mum to dementia 2 days before her 64th Birthday in November. It’s such a cruel disease. Cherish these memories with your beautiful Mum.” Another follower said: “Horrible isn’t it. My mum has it and doesn’t know who we are now. Heartbreaking. Happy birthday to your mum xx.”
Charley Webb has opened up about her mum’s Alzheimer’s battle before. Appearing on This Morning in 2023, the actress said she has been living in ‘hell’ after watching her mum deteriorate before her eyes.
