Hollyoaks fans have realised that Lexi Roscoe star Marnie Fletcher is the daughter of former cast member Liz Marsland and Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher.
Lexi, as fans will know, is the daughter of much-loved character Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham), who returned to the Channel 4 soap in 2024 after seven years.
Freddie was keen to settle back into the village and confided in Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) about how much he wished he could build a relationship with Lexi.
Lexi, as viewers will recall, was born in 2016, shortly before mum Lindsey Butterfield was murdered by serial killer Silas Blissett.
The character, much like dad Freddie, staged her on-screen comeback last summer, with Marnie taking over the role as Freddie visited his daughter at a nearby school – though he refrained from revealing to her who exactly he was!
Marnie is the real-life daughter of Emmerdale and Strictly star Kelvin Fletcher and Liz Marsland, who appeared in Hollyoaks in 2023 as Alex Burton, the bank manager who Cindy Cunningham (Steph Waring) was trying to get money out of to buy the market back.
‘I couldn’t be prouder seeing Marnie joining the cast of Hollyoaks’, said Liz upon news of Marnie’s casting.
‘The same soap I once graced. Now, as her chaperone, I’m able to witness her journey, with a huge sense of pride and joy.’
Kelvin, meanwhile, shared his joy over Lexi making her TV debut on Instagram, writing: ‘To be standing behind the camera, watching my 7yr old daughter act for the first time in front of the camera, brought so many feelings back to when I first started acting and it felt so surreal to be there witnessing it all again but this time, as a parent.
‘My heart was beaming with pride and it was genuinely one of the very few times I’ve felt completely fulfilled.’
Last year, Metro shared an exclusive first look at a promo picture of Marnie as Lexi, standing beside dad Freddie.
Also seen in the picture were Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham), Freddie’s brother, in addition to long-time Hollyoaks favourite Hannah Ashworth (Emma Rigby).
Fans were in disbelief when Marnie first appeared in the role, with some expressing their shock at how much she resembled dad Kelvin.
‘I forgot it was gonna be Kelvin Fletcher’s daughter playing her… but as I saw her I just paused and sat there thinking “oh my god” cause all I could see was the actress’ dad, they look SO alike,’ a fan wrote on X/Twitter.
