Bachelor Nation fans got to know Katie Thurston on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and again on Season 17 of “The Bachelorette,” where she got engaged to Blake Moynes.
While the two ended up going their separate ways, they’ve remained supportive of each other ever since and wish the best for one another.
Katie has been keeping fans updated with her life on social media since her time on the Bachelor Nation shows and revealed earlier this year that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.
She’s been very open about her diagnosis online and keeps fans up to date on her treatment journey.
And this week, she sat down with Emmanuel Acho to have an honest conversation about her experience so far.
During their talk, Katie revealed that multiple fellow Bachelor Nation stars have reached out to show their support during this time.
She said, “It’s been, I wanna say shocking, but not. I mean the group of guys I had were amazing, my hosts were amazing. ‘The Bachelor’ franchise as a whole, as people who’ve gone through it, we’re all a part of this unique bond that will forever be there. And so I’ve been able to reach out to them. We have a ‘Bachelorette’ group chat that’s still very much active and people reach out through that. So it’s been great. It’s refreshing to see that while I was just a very small moment in some of these people’s lives that they still felt compelled to reach out and send their support.”
Emmanuel then asked if there was one message in particular that touched her or one specific person that stood out to her, in which Kate revealed that Blake had reached out.
She replied, “Maybe Blake. Blake sent a video message, which is true Blake form. It was just very personal and thoughtful and he probably knew me the best out of the men that I dated on the show, obviously…I wasn’t [surprised]. Blake and I had a very healthy connection even when things ended, and he’s a great guy so it’s very within his character to reach out. And especially in the way that he did.”
We love that Katie and Blake remain so supportive of each other, and love seeing Bachelor Nation reach out.
We continue to send our love to Katie and we’re wishing her all the best as she continues her treatments.
