In a surprise announcement that’s taken Neighbours fans by storm, Stefan Dennis, best known for his iconic role as Paul Robinson, has revealed a major personal and professional milestone — and it’s one that fans will be celebrating right alongside him.
Speaking in a candid interview with TV Week, the veteran actor shared that he is preparing to release a brand-new music project, marking his official return to the music scene after decades away.
“It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for years,” Stefan said. “Music was my first love before acting took over, and I finally feel like the timing is right.”
Fans of Neighbours may remember Stefan’s brief but memorable pop career in the late 1980s, when he released the hit single “Don’t It Make You Feel Good”, which charted in the UK. Now, nearly four decades later, Stefan is returning to the studio — with a mature sound and plenty of stories to tell.
“This isn’t a nostalgia trip,” he explained. “I’m not trying to re-create the ’80s. This is about sharing who I am now, through music.”
In addition to his musical comeback, Stefan also revealed another piece of exciting news: he’ll be taking a temporary step back from filming Neighbours to focus on touring and recording.
“Don’t worry, Paul’s not going anywhere,” he laughed. “But yes, I’ll be off-screen for a few weeks later this year. It’s all part of the plan.”
The announcement has been met with an outpouring of support from co-stars and fans alike. Annie Jones (Jane Harris) said she was “so proud” of Stefan for taking the leap.
“He’s incredibly talented — not just as an actor, but as a musician too. This is long overdue.”
