Freddie’s marriage to Grace wasn’t all that it seemed

Charlie Clapham first played Freddie Roscoe first arrived in the village in 2013 and stayed for four years before leaving the show.

Last year he made a shock return alongside Tamara Wall as villain Grace Black as his wife.

Freddie quickly cheated on Grace with Vicky Grant, and again Mercedes McQueen.

He is plotting to bring down Grace but he has no idea she’s got his brother Robbie chained up in a basement somewhere.

The storyline is set to come to an explosive head later this year and it will lead to actor Charlie’s exit.

A source said: “Charlie has finished his stint filming.

“He’s hugely popular and everyone’s really sad to see him go but the storyline is great and it was all planned out before his return.

“There’s going to be a big send off for Freddie as the soap ramps up for a huge summer leading to the 30th later this year.”

A Hollyoaks spokeswoman declined to comment.

Last week the soap also said goodbye to Nikki Sanderson after 12 years playing Maxine Minniver.

Breaking her silence on her exit, she said: “My proudest moments have to be the domestic violence storyline with Jeremy Sheffield, and of course, the phenomenal episode that was The Long Walk Home, both working in conjunction with government’s campaigns to help, protect and save vulnerable people living these horrendous experiences.

“I will miss her and the show so much, but most of all I will miss the extraordinary people who work at Lime Pictures, they are the heartbeat of the show.

“They don’t get the praise they deserve. Hollyoaks can sometimes be given a hard time, but I can honestly say I have spent over a decade working with some of the most talented, creative, kind people.

“Thank you to you all, it’s been an honour working with you.”
