Darcy asks Terese about extending his lease at Number 22 on a long-term basis, but she feels uneasy. Susan suggests that Terese wants to keep the house as security in case things go wrong with Paul. In the end, Terese decides that she’s only offering Darcy a short-term renewal.
Darcy guesses that Terese’s unease over Chelsea is the main factor behind her decision, so he lets Chelsea know. Chelsea then tells Paul, who’s also taken aback. Will Chelsea manage to drive a wedge between Paul and Terese?

Elsewhere, Darcy realises that Karl is getting too close to the truth when he finds out that Karl has been asking Amanda about whether he’s ever asked her for money. That evening, Darcy retaliates by “accidentally” exposing Karl’s opioid use to Susan.
