After a series of tense twists and emotional turmoil, Hollyoaks fan favorites Lucas Hay and Dillon Ray are facing an uncertain future – despite viewers holding out hope for a happy ending for the beloved couple known as “HayRay.”
Lucas (Oscar Curtis) and Dillon (Nathaniel Dass) have had a turbulent journey, constantly getting together and breaking apart. Every time they seem close to reuniting, a new obstacle gets in the way, making their relationship more fragile than ever.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror at the British Soap Awards 2025, both actors hinted at what’s ahead for their characters. When asked if “HayRay” is officially back together, Nathaniel laughed, “We can’t tell you that,” with Oscar teasing, “You’d ruin the fun!”
However, their words gave fans a glimmer of hope. Nathaniel admitted, “When they’re together, it’s amazing – and when they’re not, it’s heartbreaking. That’s what makes it exciting.” Oscar added, “There’s always a storm brewing, but also calm after it – and that’s what makes their dynamic so unique.”
The actors acknowledged that Lucas and Dillon’s contrasting personalities have made their relationship a rollercoaster. “When one is ready, the other isn’t. That’s where the chaos comes in,” Nathaniel said.
Still, when asked if there’s a future for “HayRay,” Oscar replied with confidence: “I’m sure there will be,” while Nathaniel added, “Let’s hope so. It would be lovely to see – even if it’s just for a little while.” Oscar joked: “Yeah, at least two weeks!”
Oscar also revealed he’s closely following fan reactions online. “I’m on social media every day,” he said. “If I see something negative, I just move on.” Nathaniel added that the positive feedback from fans about the couple has been heartwarming.
As the interview wrapped up, both actors confirmed viewers can expect to see a lot more of Lucas and Dillon on screen together soon – promising more drama, more emotion, and perhaps a reunion.
“There’s conflict, but there’s also more to come,” Nathaniel said. “You’ll definitely see more of us together.” Oscar concluded with a hopeful tease: “Let’s just say, HayRay might be back – for now.”
