Hollyoaks star joins major dating show unexpectedly after breakup with partner

Former Hollyoaks star Charlie Georgio has signed up for Love Island USA.
Charlie appeared on the Channel 4 soap for six episodes back in 2019 as Jed, a police informant in a far-right extremist group who was set up on a date with Ste Hay.
It’s now been revealed that Charlie has swapped acting for reality TV, with the star entering the Love Island USA villa as a bombshell during the show’s second episode.
“I’m tall, tanned, girls usually say I’ve got nice lips, and they like kissing them,” he said in his entrance.
“You might think that Love Island started already, but now that I’m here, it’s only just begun.”
Love Island USA is currently airing on Peacock in the US, though it won’t be available to watch for UK viewers until a later date.
In previous years, the series has been made available to stream on ITVX after fully airing in the US.
Meanwhile, the 12th season of Love Island UK is set to kick off on Monday 9 June, where it will introduce a new batch of singletons looking for love in the sun.
Kyle Ashman was one of 12 contestants confirmed for the new series, though ITV confirmed on Wednesday (4 June) that he has already quit due to “personal reasons”.
He’s being replaced by professional rugby player Conor, who revealed that he’s looking for “a dominant woman”.
“Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic,” he said, adding: “I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing.”
