Elsewhere, Martha gives Jez some harsh home truths, but it doesn’t stop him from lining up another victim.
1. The McQueens celebrate Mercedes
Mercedes’ family organise a “screw you, cancer” party following the recent positive updates over her health.
Prince isn’t sure that the celebration is the most appropriate idea, but Mercedes rumbles their plans early. When Mercedes learns that it was initially Freddie’s suggestion, she urges them to continue with the preparations.
2. Donny breaks big news about Bobby
The McQueens enjoy the party and Myra makes an emotional speech about her daughter. However, there’s more than one interruption as the afternoon progresses.
One incident sees Donny arrive on official police business. He discreetly warns Mercedes and Myra that Bobby has managed to break free from the secure home – seemingly escaping in the boot of a social worker’s car.
3. Mercedes is drawn to Bobby
Mercedes risks big trouble with the law when Bobby gets in touch with her. She secretly meets up with him at The Dog, which is closed for refurbishment work.
Bobby insists that he’s sorry for everything that he’s done. Mercedes urges her son to do the right thing and return to the secure home for the rest of his sentence, as he can enjoy his freedom afterwards. Despite this, Bobby seems determined to do things his own way…
4. Goldie makes a return
Goldie returns to the village and is outraged over Bobby’s escape – still holding him responsible for the death of her beloved brother Sylver. She’s determined to make sure that Bobby is sent back to the home to serve the rest of his sentence.
Tony is also upset to hear the news about Bobby, remembering how the twisted teen killed Verity.
5. Time starts to run out for Mercedes and Bobby
Mercedes faces a race against time to get Bobby out of the village before construction work officially starts on The Dog.
Donny is watching Mercedes closely – could she be about to slip up?
6. Dodger has a revealing meeting
Dodger meets up with Tori’s former social worker, which leaves Jez feeling uneasy. He hopes to find out what really happened to Dennis.
The social worker confirms that Dennis was being harassed by a member of the Blake family before his suspicious death. Much to Jez’s relief, Dodger speculates that Dilly could have been the sinister figure responsible.
7. Jez faces two big problems
John Paul gives Jez a hard time for not attending Mercedes’ big party, feeling let down by his fiancé.
Things only get worse for Jez when a blackmail letter arrives at the Blakes’ flat.
8. Martha turns against Jez
Martha warns Jez that she can’t keep supporting him after his string of villainous acts. She admits that it’s too hard to love him, in light of everything he’s done.
Jez is genuinely upset by Martha’s tough stance, and she continues to twist the knife by branding him a narcissist.
9. Jez strikes again
Struggling without his mum’s support, Jez starts to get even worse.
He takes someone prisoner at the shed – who is he targeting this time?
10. Diane and Marie clash again
Diane and Marie continue to clash as their rivalry over Tony rumbles on.
Diane, Marie and Tony all make fools of themselves by exchanging harsh words. Tony is embarrassed by how childishly they’ve all behaved.
