Hollyoaks reveals who is in danger on Jez and John Paul’s wedding day
Hollyoaks revealed who was left in danger on the wedding day of Jez Blake and John Paul McQueen.
The pair’s big day was left in doubt following Jez’s outburst on Monday (21 July), with the villain smashing a mirror after his partner confessed that he didn’t truly know him and may not have loved him after all.
Tuesday’s (22 July) instalment began with Jez questioning Bobby Costello over his presence at the allotment, with the youngster admitting that he was searching for evidence that could clear him for the murder of social worker Ian Stone.
Jez, who killed Ian himself, concocted a sinister plan to pin the murder on the late Dilly Harcourt, explaining that it would also clear his name in Dennis Savage’s death. He ordered Bobby to get digging, and said he’d pay him if he left the village for good.
John Paul, meanwhile, was wracked with doubt as his big day loomed, with his family seeking clarification regarding the incident with the mirror. Despite stressing that Jez didn’t harm him, John Paul was still uncertain over their future together.
The pair later met in the village, with John Paul yet to put on his suit as he considered his options. Jez stressed that they could move past the incident, with Martha urging John Paul to go through with the ceremony.
As Bobby attempted to warn Mercedes about Jez, the villain headed to the police station to enact the next step of his plan, with the serial killer blessed with good fortune as Dodger was forced to vacate the evidence room due to an incident.
After planting the evidence, Jez’s attention turned to the wedding, though it proved to be a disaster after John Paul realised that his partner’s vows were lifted from a Mark Twain poem. Feeling betrayed, he called off the marriage.
“You just say exactly what you want me to hear – it’s empty,” reasoned John Paul, with tensions escalating as Jez had to be wrestled off his jilted lover. Mercedes interjected, issuing Jez with a warning as she ordered him to stay away from her half-brother.
With his relationship left in tatters, Jez returned to the allotment and rued his bad luck to Robbie, who he’s been keeping hostage. As he recounted the events of the day, he held particular disdain for Mercedes, remarking that she would “pay” for her actions…
