Hollyoaks star calls for another character to be brought back from the dead

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks star Gemma Bissix has teased more shocking drama for her iconic villain Clare Devine – and revealed who else she’d like to return to the show.
Clare returned to our screens after 12 years back in May, as she was revealed to be the mysterious Mrs Banks at the heart of the teenage trafficking plot.
As the storyline continues, viewers have seen Clare attempt to traffic Mercedes’ son Bobby and even try to kill her own sister Grace.
But it seems this isn’t the end of Clare’s reign of terror, as Gemma teases big things to come ahead of the 30th anniversary.
“People in the village have got to be really careful, nobody needs to cross Clare,” Gemma exclusively told us at Inside Soap.
“She’s still not admitting to doing any trafficking but most of the bad things that happen do end up coming back to Clare Devine! Every single character in the show needs to watch out!”
There’s a big surprise in store for Clare and Grace, with Emmerdale legend John Middleton confirmed to soon be joining the show as their grandfather Froggy.
Clare was thought to be dead for 12 years, but it was revealed that she had survived being run over back in 2013 and had been nursed back to health by her husband Alistair. This prompted Gemma to reveal which Hollyoaks character she’d bring back from the dead if she could.
“It’s got to be Max!” she said. “I just think it would be so cool to be able to do some stuff with Matt Littler again.”
Gemma also revealed that her favourite Clare storyline was when she drove a car off the edge of a cliff back in 2007.
“We had to do our own stunts, and I got to learn to scuba drive to be able to drown,” she recalled.
“I had to put weights around my waist and tread water in this freshwater lake, and then just let go and sink to the bottom and wait for a scuba diver to come and provide the oxygen. I also got to drive a fast car with a camera mounted on the side!”
For her portrayal of Clare, Gemma has been nominated for three Inside Soap Awards: Best Villain, Best Showstopper and Best Partnership, alongside Tamara Wall as on-screen sister Grace.
