Hollyoaks has revealed that one character has been keeping up a very sneaky charade for weeks.
Recently, Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage began a relationship with Clare Devine, seemingly believing her lie that she had nothing to do with the people trafficking ring. He’s defended her from multiple people, including his own family.
But in tonight’s episode, it was revealed he’s playing the long game.
The latest instalment kicked off with Dodger coming to Grace Black and Clare’s flat to arrest Lucas Hay for trashing the property.
At the station, Dodger listened to Lucas talk about how the trafficking ordeal has really affected Dillon’s mind. He quietly told the youngster he needs to stay away from Clare, who he pointedly referring to her as “a very sick woman”.
Back at the flat, Clare insisted that Lucas be punished for what he’d done, but Dodger and Grace both pushed for her to leave him alone. Dodger left to go and visit Rex Gallagher in prison alongside Donny Clarke.
“We want everything you’ve got on Clare Devine,” Dodger told him. “You see, I’ve been getting rather close to your long-list sister recently, and I’m starting to understand how Clare ticks. How her nasty little mind works.”
Rex tried to warn them he was “playing a very dangerous game”, but the coppers insisted he needed to inform on Clare in order to secure his freedom — and before she turns her attention to Lucas.
Meanwhile, Grace made a list of her and dad’s old contacts in the hope of finding her long-lost child, but when her back was turned, Clare ripped the list up and threw it in the bin.
Will Grace turn against her sister yet again?
