It’s a truly electric week in Neighbours as Yaz Shields’ (Chrishell Stause) plan to hurt Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) backfires, causing serious injuries to another Ramsay Street resident.

The Amazon Prime Video soap has also teased an exit for the sinister American – but will Yaz heed Nicolette Stone’s (Hannah Monson) advice and flee before she lands herself in serious trouble?

And which local finds themselves in grave danger?

As Jane Harris (Annie Jones) heads off on a hot date, she realises she’s got more than she bargained for, and Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) is forced to face his demons as we approach the one year anniversary of husband David’s passing.

Seb Metcalfe (Rarmian Newton) continues to meddle in Leo Tanaka’s (Tim Kano) love life, determined to get his hands on Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis) whilst Gino Esposito (Shane McNamara) makes an attempt to convince Vera Punt (Sally-Anne Upton) that Eirini Rising is the place for her.

And, with the Varga-Murphys set to make a return to Erinsborough from their lavish New York holiday, Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) readies their house… unaware that someone is lurking in the shadows.

Who is the mystery intruder?

Light’s Up festival is well and truly underway, and as Yaz prepares to leave town, Holly is blissfully unaware of the deadly transformer she’s been told to use.

Crimesborough podcast host Blaze (Stefanie Jones) urges her to listen to her latest episode, insisting that it adds more perspective to to the events of the outback.

There’s testimonies from Mackenzie (Georgie Stone), Haz (Shiv Palekar), Toadie (Ryan Moloney) and Melanie (Lucinda Cowden), who make her realise that she’s read the situation entirely wrong and she must stop Holly from being electrocuted.

Nicolette tries to track Yaz down, and when she arrives at her hotel room she’s shocked to find it trashed – and her belongings gone. After showing the fake lawyer business card to Krista, they begin to realise the connection to Heath.

Unfortunately, the situation soon turns disastrous when Max (Ben Jackson) decides to help Holly out, and he flies up in the air – suffering severe electric burns on his hands and knocked unconscious.

Realising that she has nowhere to hide, Yaz rushes off to the airport, unaware that Nic is hot on her heels.

The two women have a candid conversation, where Yaz explains about her upset over Heath’s death and how overwhelmed she was, left in limbo with no explanation.

As the realisation is made, Holly’s jaw hits the floor back in Erinsborough. Some personal photos of Yaz and Heath have slipped through the net and ended up in the Lost Loves light display.

Yaz tells Nic that she’s ready to hand herself in, but news soon reaches them that Max is set to make a full recovery.

Nicolette tells her to get on the plane and go – but what will she do?

The residents attempt to make sense of the unfolding events, with nobody more keen for answers than Holly. Nicolette returns, but doesn’t reveal what she found out.

Everything begins to make sense – the hidden recording equipment, secret gifts and electricity disaster was all set up to manipulate and torment Holly. She’s truly devastated that another person has tried to ruin her life.

She’s more determined than ever to get justice, with Nicolette wracked with guilt.

Elsewhere, Seb tries to spend some quality time with Krista in the wake of the horrific event. He’s disappointed when she decides to have a picnic with Leo and Abigail instead.

He watches on from a distance, determined to drive a wedge between the happy family.

Realising that he’ll have to go to extreme measures to get his own way, he purposely hurts his already injured shoulder and then sends her an SOS message for help.

Nicolette and Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) are unsure whether meeting someone she’s never seen is the right thing to do, but Jane is keen to accept his date invitation.

She gets a huge surprise when she meets up with the mystery fella – real name Clint – who is several years her junior. She’s bagged a toy boy!

Luckily for her, he says he likes a more mature woman and she warily sits down.

To her surprise, they really seem to hit it off, but she wishes him well for finding someone on the app and leaves. She later tells Aaron and Nicolette that even though it went really well, she can’t get past the age gap.

When Clint asks her out on another date, Byron (Xavier Molyneux) is adamant to know what his game plan is and insinuates that he wouldn’t be interested or attracted in his mum without a catch.

Insulted, Jane reaches out and secures meeting number two.

Elsewhere, the Varga-Murphys are delayed returning from New York and Andrew is suspicious by movement coming from their house.

After an initial investigation, he concludes it was a false alarm.

A guilt-ridden Byron decides to support Sadie’s (Emerald Chan) decision to get a facial piercing, and bravely announces that he’s going to get a body modification himself.

At the last minute, he chickens out and when his misguided attempt is revealed, Sadie urges him not to do crazy things to please her.

Krista and Leo head to check in on Seb following his accident, and he’s pleased to get the attention he was craving. At the hospital, he pushes Leo to go and spend some time with Abigail so that he can have his crush all to himself.

When alone, he tells Krista that he fears after her wedding they’ll drift apart, but she assures him that she’ll always have his back – music to his ears!

What will she do?

Thursday, January 23

Nervous that her big secret will be exposed, Nicolette does what she’s asked and gets rid of Seb from Harold’s.

He’s not too bothered by losing the position, but it soon becomes apparent to him that Leo may have been behind the decision when he suggests he starts to consider his next steps… such as attending university in Sydney.

With the one year anniversary of David’s death fast approaching, Leo is left considering what his brother would have advised him in such a situation.

At Eirini Rising, Sadie and Holly are handed a light bulb moment by Gino and they get him on board to pamper Vera. She’s overjoyed to have her hair done by an Erinsborough hairstyling legend.

During their session, the high life of the retirement complex is hyped up – including the gossip, scandal and eligible men that she could encounter there.

The two get along like a house on fire and Sadie’s plan seems to be working, but Byron overdoes the upsell and Vera is left with a bitter taste in her mouth, she refuses to consider it.

On Ramsay Street, Andrew prepares for Dex (Marley Williams) and JJ’s (Riley Bryant) return and stocks their fridge ahead of the new school term.

Whilst in the house, he begins to hear noises but Sadie convinces him that he’s imagining it. In the shadows, an intruder is lurking…

Noticing that a cupboard has been left open, Andrew is certain that he’s not alone and begins to search the house.

Who is hiding away?

Elsewhere, Aaron is feeling melancholic ahead of David’s anniversary and hides his unease in front of Rhett. He admits to Jane that he doesn’t feel ready to move on and let go of his husband.

Jane advises him to think carefully before making a decision, but he resolves to break things off with Rhett (Liam Maguire).

Oh no!
