Former Hollyoaks actor heartbroken after split from girlfriend
Coronation Street actor Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit Green, split from his long-term girlfriend of five years Amy Harris earlier this year but they've since split
Coronation Street’s Jacob Roberts, who portrays Christopher “Kit” Green, reportedly ended his relationship with PR executive Amy Harris earlier this year following a five-year romance. The 33-year-old soap actor sparked speculation of a break up in June when he removed all images of Amy from his Instagram, a move that Amy mirrored, seemingly confirming their split.
The pair were frequently seen at glitzy events and cosy dinners, with the cause of their separation remaining a mystery, according to OK!. Their unexpected split follows Jacob’s stint on Hollyoaks as Damon Kinsella, a role he maintained until 2023.
Since then, he’s been stirring things up on Coronation Street, playing a crucial part in the enigmatic disappearance of Lauren Bolton and the murder plot involving Joel. Recently, fans have begun to suspect that Kit may be more implicated in Joel’s death than initially thought, with scenes featuring DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Kit leading viewers to think they might be involved, with one potentially being Joel’s murderer.

One fan speculated on social media: “I’m going full Dee dee style detective with this and I need a life but when Kit and Swain are in Joel’s flat they’re clearly discussing/making sure they have a believable story and are leaving no evidence behind in their cover-up.”, reports the Mirror.
Another viewer suggested: “Rewatched the scenes, when Swain said “Betsy’s involvement changed everything” – she has so killed him/ accidentally killed him.”
Jacob was clearly thrilled about his new role, revealing: “It’s absolutely amazing… when I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.”
Elating further about the impact on his family, Jacob stated, “My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here. Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.”
Discussing his character, he shared some intriguing insights: “I’m looking forward to everyone meeting Kit but I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first. He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep-rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.”
