Former Bachelor Nick Viall married Natalie Joy last year after 2 1/2 years of dating. In February, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter River Rose.
Now, Nick and Natalie have taken to their podcast “The Viall Files” to share the heartbreaking news that they recently suffered a miscarriage of their second baby.
On the podcast, Natalie said, “I’ve been putting on this front. I’ve been trying to be a good mom to River and come and do my job, whether it’s on the podcast or on social media for the past week. And currently as I sit here today, I’m actively miscarrying our second child. And it has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life.”

Natalie shared that this experience has been hard to put into words.
“As Nick said, it’s one of those things that I’ve heard of, so many of my friends have sadly been through it,” she said. “You feel sad, you want to be there for these people. But you don’t really know the loss that they feel until you go through it yourself.”
Nick and Natalie decided they wanted to share their story so other people who have gone through a similar experience could feel seen and know that they’re not alone.
“It’s going to take a long time to heal from this, but it is raw and we’re feeling it right now,” Natalie admitted, “and I think that’s why I wanted to do this now. Because I want to show people and I want to give the mothers who have felt this same feeling, you’re not alone.”
Nick also shared that he didn’t know what to do when it happened but just knew he needed to be there to support Natalie.
“You really don’t know what to say or do, you know. So I don’t think I said anything other than I think I just held you,” he said to Natalie.
Natalie then told Nick how grateful she is for his support as they go through this difficult time together.
“I just feel really grateful to have you because it was the worst thing I’ve ever been through, but you made it as easy as it could’ve been to go through. And you did everything right, which I feel is impossible to do in those situations and yet you managed and you still continue,” she said to her husband.
We’re sending all of our love to Natalie and Nick at this time.
