Is The Bachelorette on Pause? Here’s the Truth

The Bachelorette is taking the summer off.

The 22nd season of ABC’s first hit Bachelor spinoff series will not premiere mid-year, unlike the past three installments. Instead, the network will air season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise this summer, E! News has confirmed.

ABC has not yet commented on the scheduling change, which was reported by multiple outlets Feb. 8. The news comes more than two weeks after the premiere of season 29 of flagship show The Bachelor, featuring leading man Grant Ellis, who competed last year on season 21 of The Bachelorette for star Jenn Tran‘s final rose.

Per Deadline, The Bachelorette has not been canceled, and while it is unlikely to happen, insiders have not completely ruled out the possibility of the show returning later in 2025.

The series has typically aired every year since its 2003 debut, with the exception of 2006 and 2007, and has in the past usually been filmed during the late winter and spring.

Bachelor in Paradise, which features previous Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants, was renewed for season 10 last July. Its ninth season premiered in September 2023, while new franchise spinoff The Golden Bachelorette, starring The Golden Bachelor alum Joan Vassos, debuted in its place the same time last year.

On the November finale, she got engaged to winner Charles “Chock” Chapple. The two are currently house-hunting.

Meanwhile, the star of the ongoing season of The Bachelor recently shared his thoughts about the emotional effects of narrowing down his 25 prospective partners on the series.

“Every rose ceremony, I struggled,” Grant exclusively told E! News. “I struggled to let somebody down, and things only got harder as the season progressed.”

Ultimately, he said, he was “happy with the ending,” adding. “There was a tough decision to make and it wasn’t all on my part.”
