Hollyoaks lines up another emotionally charged week, as confirmed in new spoilers, with the return of a matriarch, who is hellbent on solving a mystery, and big steps taken in two relationships.
The matriarch I’m referring to is none other than the Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane), who is determined to find out why daughter Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is taking the fall for a crime she didn’t commit.
Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis), meanwhile, is still rattled in the wake of his drugs ordeal, not to mention his break-up with Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass), but the drama continues for him next week as Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) turns his attention to another of his loved ones.
Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) is taken aback by Rex’s commitment to him, which sparks conflict bertween he and his son. And sparks look set to fly between Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) once more.

Monday March 10
Ste is perturbed when he wakes to find Clara and James being looked after by Rex, who assures him he’s okay. Ste is grateful for his help but informs Rex that he doesn’t want him to be his nurse. Rex, however, reveals that he’s finding it rather hard to stay away from him.
Lucas, meanwhile, tells Dillon that he wants nothing to do with him following their split – nor does he want to be around Rex. Little does he know, however, that his dad is growing closer to the gangster!
Speaking of Rex, Dillon shows off his new car that the crime boss acquired for him, much to the dismay of Grace, who warns him to stay under the radar. Dillon is tasked with delivering a package.
Cleo is taken aback when she finds out that Sienna is back from her holiday with Sophie and Sebastian, with the two not having spoke much since their unexpected kiss last month.
The nurse is preparing for a job interview when she spots Sienna and there’s more shocks in store when Mercedes, who is still under suspicion for Abe’s murder, is wheeled past her by a security guard.
Is Mercy okay?
That remains to be seen but, under the pressure of everything she’s been through, Cleo suffers a panic attack, with Joel on hand to offer support in the aftermath.
Leela, meanwhile, is convinced that Joel is up to something when he doesn’t turn up for work, John Paul is worried about how much he and Jez communicate and Tony cooks a family meal at The Hutch, with Arlo wasting little time in stirring up trouble.
Tuesday March 11
Ste is determined to find out why Lucas turned to drugs and thus quizzes his son, who in turn attempts to warn his dad about Rex, knowing he’s bad news.
Rex offers to smooth things over with Lucas, who finds himself stuck in the middle, unable to reveal why he has reservations about Rex without implicating his beloved Dillon.
Rex, however, at this point has had a taster of family life and he makes a promise to Lucas, vowing to walk away from Ste if he ever makes him unhappy.
Joel spots Sienna with Cleo, who suggests that he focus on his own marriage. Leela, meanwhile, confronts him after seeing him with Cleo, wondering if he’d even be with her if Clara wasn’t his.
Confused, Leela attends therapy with newcomer Tommy, who consoles her – before leaning in for a kiss!
Tommy will feature more regularly moving forward – and there’s more to him than we currently know.
How Leela reacts to the kiss attempt remains to be seen but she soon gets a shock when Joel, determined to make amends, surprises her with a dinner.
John Paul worries Jez isn’t serious about their relationship and Arlo fills Ro’s head with dark thoughts.
Wednesday March 12
Myra returns home once again and is determined to find out who Mercedes is taking the fall for – and why. With some assistance from Maxine and Misbah, the matriarch stages an intervention.
Will Mercedes spill the beans? And will the truth about who really killed Abe be revealed?
Sienna and Cleo, meanwhile, continue to grow closer as they confide in one another and, determined to take a chance, Cleo asks Sienna to be her date to an event.
Just what will Sienna say?
Elsewhere, Martha is concerned when she spots Jez looking through his murder book but she is ultimately relieved when he reveals something intriguing.
