Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours legend Anne Charleston has been re-added to the show’s opening titles.

The iconic soap star has recently made a surprise comeback, 24 years after her beloved character Madge Bishop sadly died from cancer.

Neighbours unveiled an updated set of opening titles in Monday’s episode (March 24) now that the 40th anniversary episodes have aired.

Last week, the titles were absent in favour of a special title card celebrating 40 years of the show.

The new-look titles see Anne’s new character Agnes Adair sitting with Harold Bishop outside the café.

Max Ramsay, who previously featured in a similar shot with Harold, has now been moved to a separate pool shot with newcomer Taye Obasi.

This marks the first time that new regular cast member Lakota Johnson, who plays Taye, has featured in the opening titles.

Finally, Holly Hoyland, Sadie Rodwell and Byron Stone also have an updated shot.

Last week, new character Agnes visited the area to view the Story of Erinsborough exhibition.

The local residents were stunned by Agnes’s obvious likeness to Madge. While Agnes was curious too, she was reluctant to stick around in case her presence upset Madge’s former husband Harold.

Neighbours‘ executive producer Jason Herbison recently told Digital Spy: “Agnes moves into Eirini Rising, which as you can imagine is quite confronting for Harold.

“Of course everyone is intrigued by her resemblance to Madge – is it a coincidence or is there another explanation for it? JJ and Max become particularly intrigued by it all and set out to solve the mystery.”

Anne previously made cameos playing visions of Madge in 2015 and 2022.

The touching scenes are building up to an exit storyline for Harold. Ian Smith, who plays the fan favourite, finished filming at Neighbours late last year after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

More recently, Ian has shared a positive health update with fans, revealing that his life expectancy has been extended to December 2026.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach Comedy.
