Next week on Hollyoaks, Joel’s quest for the truth takes him back to the missing year, with a flashback episode that includes Warren’s return to the village, Mercedes and Leela’s struggles and a revelation that changes everything.
Elsewhere, Robbie is in grave danger, there is huge drama at Grace’s party and Dodger finally returns to the village.

1. Hollyoaks goes back in time
Viewers have seen Tommy attempt to trigger Joel’s memory by taking him to the hospital, where his brother Billy is lying in a coma. He explained that it was Joel who put him in hospital, even though he has no recollection of what happened.
Joel struggles with this new information, and his search for answers takes him back to the show’s missing year…
In a special flashback episode, which will air on Monday, April 7, Joel and Leela’s marriage is on the rocks, with Leela’s behaviour becoming increasingly erratic since Theresa’s party. Joel is still finding it hard to cope with his grief and heads out to buy more drugs, but he is stunned to instead find his dad, Warren Fox.
2. Warren is on a mission
Warren, who went on the run just before the show’s time jump, isn’t just back to reunite with his struggling son. He has a tense encounter with Freddie, while he also enlists the help of Arlo to help deliver a letter to Mercedes. What does he want to tell his former lover?
Elsewhere, Freddie finds out that his daughter Lexi has been taken to hospital after being left alone with Curtis, so he and Grace rush to be with her. But they don’t realise that Dodger, who himself is enjoying being reunited with Maxine, is watching them from a distance…

3. Leela and Mercedes open up
Mercedes has her own struggles to deal with in the flashback, as she has been experiencing some concerning bowel changes so has scheduled a colonoscopy. Viewers are aware that Mercedes will soon be diagnosed with bowel cancer, but for now she tells Leela about her upcoming hospital appointment.
At this point, Mercedes accidentally knocks over Leela’s bag and finds a pregnancy test. Leela tells her friend that she was sexually assaulted at Theresa’s party, and Mercedes encourages her to open up to Joel. Leela later discovers that she is pregnant, and she grows even more concerned.
4. Joel’s past is revealed
The flashback episode also shows an incident at a nightclub, where Joel spots Tommy – at this point a stranger – being bullied by his brother Billy and decides to intervene.
Back in the present day, Joel wakes up at Tommy’s place after learning this distressing new information. Tommy doesn’t want to let his target out of his grasp, so he tries to turn Joel against Leela.
5. Robbie is in danger
Grace is angry at DI Banks for taking her son Curtis, so she decides to plan her own party behind his back.
Rex begins to doubt that Robbie, who they are still holding captive, is the mole, but he gives him one last chance to tell him what he needs to know. When not even the threat of getting to Lexi works, Rex leaves Dodger to get rid of Robbie. Will he be okay?
6. Joel backs Tommy
Still suspicious, Leela wants Joel to tell Tommy that he can’t have any more sessions with him. But when he does this, Tommy panics and fears that Joel is ending their friendship.
Later, Joel explains to Leela that he thinks he should continue seeing Tommy and even defends his actions. What does Tommy have over Joel?
7. Grace’s party goes wrong
Rex fights against his conscience and continues to manipulate Dillon and Frankie. He invites the teens to Grace’s party at The Loft and promises that they will be protected. Dillon and Frankie have doubts but they feel like they don’t have a choice, so the pair head to the latest party.
But the event ends disastrously, and Grace is forced to buy Frankie and Dillon’s silence after what unfolded. Donny later shows up with a kind gesture for Dillon, which highlights the love his family has for him. Will Dillon find a way out of the trafficking ring?
8. Dodger is back with the Blakes
After thinking she saw Dodger in the village earlier this year, Sienna is shocked when she comes face to face with her long-lost twin next week. Things soon get even more complicated when there is another big family reunion.
Later, Myra-Pocahontas shows Myra and Prince a photo she took of a man in the village and asks if it is her dad. Myra says no, but she admits to Prince that it is in fact Dodger.
Sienna collapses again in the market, still being poisoned by Martha, and Jez takes the opportunity to call Dodger. He arrives and, ignoring Maxine’s concerns, Dodger walks through the village with the whole family in tow. How will Dodger’s return to the village affect his undercover operation?
