Nadine Mulkerrin has revealed the cheeky way she started dating her Hollyoaks co-star.
Nadine first started dating Joel Dexter star Rory Douglas-Speed eight years ago, after they met on the Channel 4 soap.
In 2018, they announced their engagement, and have two young sons together, Dougie and Reggie.
Taking to Instagram, Nadine celebrated their anniversary with a sweet photo of the couple cheersing glasses of white wine.
‘8 years ago I slid into Rory’s DMs saying bring a bag with your night time insulin in,’ she captioned the picture, alongside some cheeky emojis.
Rory was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child, and his Hollyoaks character Joel received the same diagnosis in a special 2023 episode called What’s Your Normal?, which used the lived experiences of people working in front of and behind the camera.
Earlier this year, Nadine called Rory out for forgetting Valentine’s Day with an hilarious video that she posted to Instagram.
After asking if he’d got her a card, she started laughing as he replied that it was ‘on the way’.
Both actors are still working on the soap, with Nadine’s character Cleo McQueen having recently shared an unexpected kiss with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).
Their romance was unfortunately short lived, with Sienna breaking things off after fears that she may have MND.
In reality, she had been poisoned by Martha Blake (Sherrie Hewson), who wanted to stop her from going on holiday with Cleo and eliminate the risk of her spilling any dastardly family secrets.
Meanwhile, new therapist Tommy Odenkirk (Brandon Fellows) has developed somewhat of an obsession with Joel, after meeting him during the missing year.
In recent scenes it was confirmed that Joel had put Tommy’s brother in a coma.
