Hollyoaks’ Frankie makes a huge decision in tense teen mystery

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Frankie Osborne made a huge decision on Hollyoaks as the tense mystery involving Vicky Grant and Dillon Ray continued.
The teenage trio have been bound by their traumatic experience at the hands of a local criminal gang, which was run by Grace Black, Rex Gallagher, Clare Devine and the corrupt DI Alistair Banks.
After a storyline which aired for several months, Banks met a grisly end as one of the trio shot him. Rex, who eventually came to regret his work with the gang, attempted to redeem himself and took the blame for the killing.
Donny Clark has continued his investigation in the subsequent weeks, with Tuesday’s (1 July) beginning as Misbah almost inadvertently discovered the gun – which had been stashed in the garden – that was used in the shooting.
Vicky managed to avert her eyes in the nick of time, though Misbah became suspicious at the teenager’s growing “expertise” in horticulture. Donny, meanwhile, expressed his doubt over Rex’s story in a conversation with Dillon.
Vicky and Dillon promptly endeavoured to stash the weapon in another location, with the pair settling on Jez Blake’s allotment. They were followed there by Jacob Omari, who had been ordered by Clare to keep an eye on the teens.
As he was discovered by Vicky, Jacob covered himself by saying he wanted advice on how to ask Frankie on a date. Unbeknownst to Jacob, Frankie had followed him, and simply remarked that he should just ask her.
Matters soon turned back to the killing of Banks, with Dillon revealing that he had stolen the ballistics report – which would seemingly prove which individual fired the fatal bullet – from Donny.
Though Vicky shared that she would rather not know, Dillon was hellbent on discovering the information, though he ultimately might never know after Frankie made the bold decision to shred the document.
As Frankie reasoned that they all needed to “move on” from the past, she and Jacob finally went on a date of sorts, with the pair sharing a heartfelt conversation as they reflected upon their pasts.
Ste Hay, meanwhile, visited Rex in prison and shared that Donny expressed doubt over his version of events. Despite Rex’s insistence of his guilt, Ste pleaded with his partner to come home.
With the ballistics report now destroyed, are the teenage trio in the clear for Banks’s death? Or will Donny have a backup plan in the investigation? Furthermore, will Frankie discover who Jacob has been calling?
