The day before the wedding, Dodger Savage pressures Liberty to admit to her affair with Jez – but he’s interrupted by a call, revealing that Dennis’ remains have been found.
Meanwhile, John Paul confesses to Jez that he’s having doubts, and isn’t sure he loves him. On the day, Jez is delighted to see uncertain John Paul at the altar – but will they go through with the marriage?
Hollyoaks star Jeremy Sheffield talks us through Jez’s mindset as he prepares to say “I do”…
Hi Jeremy! How is Jez feeling about his upcoming wedding day?
“Jez is very happy with it – he’s getting everything he wants. He thinks he can have his cake and eat it, so whatever else is going on doesn’t really affect it!”
Is he worried when Dennis’ remains are found?
“No – he has to make sure his secrets are safe but he’s profoundly confident in his own ability. He thinks he’s superior to the rest of the world, will cope with whatever’s thrown at him, and will thrive.”
If they do marry, could Jez stop killing?
“Jez thinks this is his biggest chance at living a normal life. He’s been living this serial killer life for many years, and coming to Hollyoaks was one of those moments where he suddenly found a family. He was like, ‘Oh, maybe I can live a different life where I’m not killing people’. He’s willing to give that a shot.”
Can you tease what’s next for him?
“It’s so crazy. It’s been an interesting challenge as an actor, because you’re playing a side that’s not a panto evil, but you want the audience to relish in his evilness and enjoy his killing, which is a very strange dichotomy. What’s to come now just ramps that up to a very high-octane level!”
